College Score CardA comprehensive database of colleges and universities across the United States. You are able to search by program or degree, location, size, name of the school, public or private, and school philosophy to get results customized just for you. It includes not only basic information about the colleges, but how much they cost, the average percentage of graduates, and the average salary of those who graduated from that college. It is run by the Department of Education, so you know the information is accurate.

College Results OnlineCollege Results Online is similar to College Scorecard, but where College Scorecard is simple and streamlined, College Results Online has a lot more data available. It even breaks down graduation date by race and gender and compares colleges that are similar to each other, or select several colleges you are interested in to compare them directly. You can also use the Advanced Search option to search for more specific college details. However, the data might be a few years old.

My College Fact FinderMy College Fact Finder is similar to the two above databases, but it is specifically for DC students. It addresses cost, the number of DC students in that college, and the the average SAT and ACT scores required to get into that college. It also stars colleges where DC students graduate at a rate above the national average.

DC Public Library College and Financial Aid CenterThis resource is unique because not only does it have websites and databases, like the above resources, but it also has a physical location you can visit for personal help. The MLK library has a college and financial aid center that does one-on-one assistance, as well as workshops, that include not only college preparation, but also career advice as well.
